No complaints have been received regarding any violations of the law by candidates during their pre-election campaigns, Rovzat Gasimov, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, said in an interview with Report.
Gasimov stated that the candidates' campaigns have been proceeding in an atmosphere of mutual respect and tranquility.
"The candidates are clearly conveying their information, messages, and platforms to their voters and answering their questions," Gasimov noted. He also said that the CEC's hotline 115 has received only a handful of inquiries so far, with the vast majority being of an informational nature or legal questions from election subjects.
“To facilitate the campaign process, the CEC, in collaboration with relevant authorities, designated 5,506 locations for pre-election campaigning. Among these locations, 3,469 were open-air spaces, while 2,037 were indoor venues. These designated areas will be at the disposal of the candidates until 8:00 am on August 31,” Gasimov said.
