Armenia polluting Araz River with nuclear and industrial waste, Nakhchivan prosecutor says

The Araz River is being contaminated by direct waste from Armenia's Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant and various metallurgical factories, Sanan Pashayev, the Prosecutor of Nakhchivan, said, according to Report.
Speaking at the Scientific-Practical Conference "Impact of Environmental Offenses in Water Use on Climate Change" in Nakhchivan, Pashayev highlighted the severe consequences of this pollution.
"Numerous settlements, agricultural lands, and pastures of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are located along the Araz River, and the contamination poses a serious threat to the life and health of the population, as well as the economy and agriculture," he stated.
