49 unknown martyrs' graves in Ganja exhumed

The graves of unknown martyrs buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Ganja have been exhumed, Report informs.

The samples were taken from 49 unknown graves in the Alley of Martyrs, and then the graves were reburied.

The Prosecutor General's Office employees, with the participation of a forensic expert, took and examined relevant samples for medical and genetic research.

Earlier, Azerbaijan's State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office to conduct an exhumation and medical-genetic examination of the graves of unknown martyrs. In order to compare the samples, DNA samples were taken from close relatives of the missing, and they are kept separately in the hospital of the State Security Service (SSS).
