2020 Azerbaijan Parliamentary Elections: Number of candidates for deputies reaches 1542 people

2,431 people have applied for participation in the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for February 9.

Report quotes Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov as saying at today's meeting that the CEC had confirmed the candidacy of 2,358 people.

"Of them, 2,247 have already got their signature sheets, 1,774 have returned them, and 1,542 have been approved as candidates," the CEC chief said.
