102-year-old voter casts her vote in Azerbaijan’s parliamentary elections

A voter over the age of 100 has cast her ballot at polling station No. 9 in the Balakan Electoral District No. 110 in Azerbaijan's snap parliamentary elections, Vahid Aliyev, Chairman of the 110th Balakan District Election Commission (DEC), told Report.

According to Aliyev, Patimat Khalilova, a resident of Garakli village in Balakan district, born in 1922, exercised her right to vote.

He added that a mobile ballot box was brought to the elderly voter's home, enabling her to participate in the democratic process.

The DEC chairman reported that 39,364 registered voters in the district are casting their ballots across 44 polling stations. Among them, 447 individuals are voting for the first time in their lives.

The voting process in the district is being monitored by 769 observers to ensure transparency and fairness.
