In connection with the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, a video reflecting the tragedy has been broadcast in metro stations in Rome and Milan, Italy, Report informs.
Holding a social action in Italy with the support of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora and the initiative of the Azerbaijani-Italian Union serves to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly genocide, convey the true voice of our people to the local and world community, and recognition of this tragedy internationally.
The video draws attention to the fact that on the night of February 25-26, 1992, the Armenian armed forces occupied the city of Khojaly in gross violation of the norms and principles of international law and committed genocide with unprecedented cruelty against the civilian population because they are Azerbaijanis.
"The Azerbaijani people will never forget the Khojaly tragedy. The Khojaly genocide must be given a legal assessment, and the perpetrators of this terrible tragedy must be punished," said Farid Abbasov, chair of the Azerbaijani-Italian Union.
