“Kharkiv is the most bombed city in Ukraine. The Russian army has been shelling the city for several days. Along with state buildings, several residential buildings have been destroyed,” Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Friendship Society of Kharkiv region Murad Omarov told Report.

He said that until March 1, most of those evacuated from Kharkiv were students, but now Ukrainian citizens of Azerbaijani descent are being evacuated.

“As of yesterday evening, 650 people were evacuated. The first train departed at 7 am today, and the second train will leave for Lviv or Moldova half an hour later. The exact number of people to be evacuated during the day is unknown, but about 150 people are expected to be evacuated from Kharkiv. Because the train schedules are chaotic and people have difficulty getting to the stations. Also because the curfew starts in the city at 15:00 in the afternoon,” he added.

“According to the information I received, the station is full of people. Those evacuated from the city are met by embassy staff. They assist in their placement and departure to another country. We believe that the war will end and people will return to their homes,” Omarov said.
