Baku is currently hosting Ukrainian Film Days as part of the "New Horizons of Ukrainian Culture" project.
According to Report, the event, which runs until December 1, will showcase eight captivating Ukrainian films.
Special guests in attendance include renowned Ukrainian actor and director Akhtem Seitablaev and Sergey Borodenyuk, the chairman of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.
During the opening ceremony, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev, expressed his delight in showcasing the development of Ukrainian cinema amidst the ongoing war. "We are pleased to demonstrate how Ukrainian cinematography is evolving under the conditions of war," Ambassador Husyev stated.
The ambassador also emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges, noting that Ukraine recently hosted Azerbaijani Culture Days. These reciprocal events serve to strengthen the cultural bridges between the two nations.
Ambassador Husyev took the opportunity to express gratitude to Azerbaijan for its unwavering support of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
As a highlight of the opening ceremony, Azerbaijani actor Novruz Pashayev was honored with the prestigious "Golden Yula" award, the highest accolade in Ukrainian cinema.
