The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has begun work on restoring monuments destroyed as a result of Armenian vandalism in Azerbaijan's Karabakh, Chairperson Aktoty Raimkulova told a correspondent of the Turkish bureau of Report on the sidelines of the panel "Current state and future prospects of Turkic cooperation" organized by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara.
Reminding that the Foundation's activities cover research, preservation, restoration, and promotion of the rich cultural heritage of Turkic peoples, Raimkulova noted that the structure she heads also conducts work on comprehensive study, promotion, and renewal of Azerbaijan's tangible and intangible cultural values.
"Our duty is to take care of our historical and spiritual heritage to preserve our common identity," she added.
Last month, Raimkulova reported on the Foundation's participation in the restoration of the Gochahmadli mosque in the Fuzuli district.
