A photo exhibition dedicated to the architectural heritage of Morocco was opened in Baku.

Report informs that the event was organized jointly by the Embassy of Morocco in Azerbaijan and the Baku Photography House.

At the opening of the exhibition, Moroccan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Adil Embarch said: "Morocco has a rich heritage of ancient architecture, especially in sites like Lixus, Volubilis and Tamuda. The ancient period in the architecture of our country reflects the influence of various civilizations, including Amazigh, Phoenician and Roman cultures."

Later, the ambassador spoke about the famous architectural monuments of the reigns of the Idrisids, Almohads, Marinids and others.

He noted that the Idrisid dynasty (8th-10th centuries) laid the foundation of Islamic architecture in Morocco.

Chairman of the Board of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Shahin Seyidzada said the exhibition demonstrates the rare architecture and rich cultural heritage of Morocco and helps the two peoples get to know each other better.

According to Seyidzada, over the past 30 years, the cooperation between the countries has developed in many fields, including the field of culture.
