On March 18, Minsk will host events dedicated to the International day of Novruz.
Report informs that the organizers of the event are the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus.
The program includes performances of folklore groups, presentation and tasting of national cuisine of each country. Guests will be also invited to see the exhibition prepared jointly by the embassies of the countries where Novruz is a national holiday.
Novruz is one of the most ancient holidays in the history of humanity. In 2009, the holiday was included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. In 2010, the 64th session of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to recognize March 21 as the international day of Novruz.
