Moscow to host festival of Azerbaijani culture

From February 20 to March 1, Moscow will host a festival of Azerbaijani culture “Days of Azerbaijan in Moscow” timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, the Russian bureau of Report informs.

The event is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia.

The purpose of the event is to acquaint Muscovites and guests of the capital with the historical and spiritual heritage of Azerbaijan.

On February 22, the Helikon Opera theater will host a festive concert “Musical stars of Azerbaijan on the Moscow stage.”

Honored and People’s Artists of Azerbaijan will perform masterpieces of Azerbaijani and Russian classics. Among the participants of the musical program are soloists of the Bolshoi Theater Yusif Eyvazov, Dinara Aliyeva, Elchin Azizov, pianist Murad Adigezalov and conductor Fuad Ibrahimov.

On February 23, the exhibition “Azerbaijani carpet - a new look” will open in the Azerbaijan Pavilion at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy, the exhibits of which will demonstrate the conceptual rethinking of traditional carpets.

The pavilion will also present the literary project “By Word of Mouth,” online reading of the poem “Seven Beauties” performed by Russian cultural and art figures.

On February 23, an exposition of paintings by the people’s artist Tahir Salahov will open at the Tretyakov Gallery.
