"UNESCO is already on a New Year holiday. We were in constant contact with them before they have gone on holiday. Unfortunately, we have not seen a reaction we would want from them. This leads us to say that the organization is politicized," Minister of Culture Anar Karimov told Report.
"We do not want a respectable international organization to be politicized and be biased. Being elected to the governing bodies of the organization will allow us to prevent negative tendencies. We hope that the organization will act in accordance with its mandate. It will both dispatch a technical mission to the liberated territories, and although it cannot guarantee the return of our cultural heritage illegally taken out of Karabakh, it at least will condemn that country," he said.
