Minister: Armenian vandals deliberately destroyed Azerbaijan's cultural monuments 

Cultural monuments of Azerbaijan were deliberately destroyed by Armenian vandals during the occupation. Currently, works are being carried out to restore the cultural monuments in the liberated territories in accordance with the road map, Minister of Culture Anar Karimov said at the Azerbaijan National Urban Forum, Report informs.

According to the minister, it's important to preserve the cultural heritage of the countries: "Azerbaijan has adopted relevant documents related to the preservation of cultural heritage. Besides, Azerbaijan has joined a number of international conventions."

"As for the factors causing the destruction of cultural heritage, it is deliberate insult during conflicts, which also happened in Karabakh during the occupation. As a result of vandalism, all the cultural heritage and monuments of Azerbaijan were deliberately destroyed. Illegal archaeological excavations were also carried out," Karimov stressed.
