Azerbaijan to launch Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform today, COP29 lead negotiator says

Azerbaijan will today launch the Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform, Yalchin Rafiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, COP29 lead negotiator, said at the event themed “High-Level Dialogue: Advancing Climate Transparency through Universal Participation in the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF),” Report informs.

"We are very happy to open it,” Rafiyev said.

According to him, this platform is designed to build mutual trust and confidence: “Of course, the enhanced transparency agenda is not limited to the conference of parties.”

The lead negotiator noted that the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change attaches great importance to transparency: “One of our most important tasks during the Climate Transparency period is the launch of this platform.”
