The results of the ClimateScanner project, which evaluates government actions in fighting the climate crisis, were presented at the COP29 conference in Baku.
According to Report, the findings were presented at the event "Where do governments stand in their climate activities? - Results of the ClimateScanner Assessment" organized during the conference.
A representative of the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil, which currently heads the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), reported that 240 auditors underwent special training to evaluate measures taken by national governments regarding climate. The ClimateScanner initiative involves 141 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs), of which 61 have already completed the assessment of their governments' actions.
Minister of the Federal Court of Accounts, Vital do Rego Filho, noted that Azerbaijan's support plays an important role in this process. He emphasized the significance of the ClimateScanner in combating climate change and announced the next important project called Energy Transition, which will also be significant in the coming years.
