President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa have discussed the importance of the bank's assistance in the digitalization of various economic sectors and implementation of green technologies during the COP29 summit in Baku, Report informs referring to the press service of the president of Tajikistan.
The parties noted that to make the economy resilient to today's challenges and threats, it is primarily necessary to attract more investments and continue economic reforms.
Rahmon and Asakawa discussed the feasibility of development partners allocating grant funds to support the reform process, state budget, and implementation of Tajikistan's priority projects. Other discussion topics included expanding cooperation in developing Tajikistan's production sectors, including industry, agriculture, and hydropower.
Additionally, opinions were expressed regarding ADB's participation in increasing economic activity and developing Tajikistan's financial market. It was noted that over 26 years of cooperation, ADB has funded 158 important projects for the country in energy infrastructure and transport, agriculture, irrigation, finance, and education.
