President of Finland to visit Azerbaijan for COP29

Finnish President Alexander Stubb will visit Azerbaijan to participate in the COP29 climate conference, set to be held in Baku in November 2024, Kirsti Narinen, Finland's Ambassador to Azerbaijan and other South Caucasus countries, told Report.

"The participation of our president at COP29 shows that Finland attaches great importance to climate issues, including the effects of climate change, mitigation, and adaptation. We will also send a team of experts and a business delegation to the conference,” Narinen stated.

The ambassador added that Finland has a strong tradition of participating in EU events and aims to achieve concrete results at such conferences.

“We are eager to contribute to the event and are confident in our ability to succeed,” she noted.
