As Baku prepares to host COP29, the conference venue will feature dedicated meditation and prayer rooms for both men and women.
The move comes in line with a bill on the ratification of the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement on the twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the nineteenth session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, the sixth session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement and the sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies," Report informs.
The prayer rooms will be strategically located in quiet and accessible areas near sanitary facilities, equipped with prayer rugs to accommodate the spiritual needs of attendees.
In addition, there will be a baby care room in the main entrance area (after security check and before the badge checkpoint) equipped with a changing table for children, two comfortable armchairs, a small refrigerator, and a hygienic trash can.
It is also planned to create four designated smoking areas equipped with ashtrays within the outdoor security perimeter.
