Over the past four years, several advances have been made in reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the US economy, US Presidential Climate Advisor John Podesta said at COP29, Report informs.
Podesta expressed his hope that efforts to regulate carbon dioxide emissions will continue in the coming years:
“Last week, presidential elections were held in the US. However, despite this, the US delegation is here now to work towards combating climate change. We have matters to discuss here. As the US, we expect impactful results from this event in the coming weeks. Over the past four years, several advances have been made in reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the US economy. I hope that we will continue our efforts to regulate carbon dioxide emissions and ensure that the population lives in healthier conditions.”
“In 2023, 36 gigawatts of environmentally clean electricity, or green energy, produced in the US was sufficient to provide electricity to more than 20 million homes,” said Podesta.
