Orkhan Mammadov: Impossible to overcome climate crisis without participation of SMEs

Without transforming small and medium-sized businesses according to "green economy" principles, it is impossible to overcome the climate crisis, said Orkhan Mammadov, chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), at the event "Climate-Resilient Small and Medium Business" within COP29, Report informs.

He noted that SMEs are more vulnerable to the effects of global warming.

Mammadov also noted that documents were signed within COP29 framework regarding the promotion of SMEs' "green transition" and cooperation in this area.

"We strive to create a global ecosystem for SMEs to make the 'green transition' real and practical for them. The Baku Declaration emphasizes the role of SMEs in the global economy and the need to support them in the 'green transition' process. We need a comprehensive and integrated approach to addressing climate change, involving all economic entities," Mammadov stated.
