Nigar Arpadarai: Fight against climate change must involve everyone

The battle against climate change must involve all of society, not just governments, according to Nigar Arpadarai, the UN's High-Level Climate Action Champion for COP29.

According to Report, in an interview with Real TV, Arpadarai emphasized the far-reaching impacts of climate change, stating, "The COP process and the fight against climate change should not happen only at the state level; it should encompass the entire society, everyone. Because climate change affects each and every one of us."

Arpadarai also highlighted the crucial role of the business sector in the upcoming COP29 conference. She called on entrepreneurs to actively engage in the process and contribute to climate financing. "When states make commitments, they engage in dialogue with the business sector, and subsequently, it is the responsibility of businesses to fulfill these obligations," Arpadarai noted.
