Mukhtar Babayev: Article 6.8 of Paris Agreement agreed upon at COP29

Today, Article 6.8 of the Paris Agreement on climate (non-market approaches to climate change mitigation and corresponding economic adaptation) was agreed upon, minister of ecology and natural resources, COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev, said on November 18 at a press conference within COP29, Report informs.

He noted that progress was made during the first week of COP29: initially on Article 6.4, and today Article 6.8 concerning non-market approaches was agreed upon.

"These are important steps towards completing the negotiations on Article 6," he said.
