Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources preparing proposals on COP29

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources is preparing proposals for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be hosted by Azerbaijan, Vugar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, told Report.

According to him, it is a great responsibility for Azerbaijan to host COP29: "The first organizational meeting was held with President Ilham Aliyev, and relevant tasks were given. An organizing committee will be formed in this regard. As you know, 112,000 people have registered for COP28, and the participation of 85,000 people has been confirmed. At least 25,000–30,000 people are expected to participate in Baku on the same day. Great work is being done to accommodate those people, transport them, prepare the event program, and, in general, prepare Baku for this event. Of course, after the approval of the organizing committee by President Ilham Aliyev, the measures and tasks will be clearer. Currently, each state agency is instructed to prepare proposals to fulfill their relevant obligations in this regard. We, as the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, are preparing our proposals."
