Minister: Azerbaijan will keep playing active role in climate processes in coming years

Azerbaijan will continue to be an active participant in the climate processes of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in the coming years, Mukhtar Babayev, the country’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev said at the Green Finance and Sustainable Development Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
According to Babayev, in this sense, leadership is expected from Azerbaijan this year: "They expect good examples from the country, as well as creative and interesting proposals from the banking sector."
The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan will chair the COP climate processes next year.
