More action is expected to be taken to combat climate change at COP29 in Baku, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN – HABITAT) Maimunah Mohd Sharif told Report.
“I have been working at UN-HABITAT since 2018 and have participated in many COPs. We would like to see more action. Enough talk, we already have many resolutions adopted, we want real action on the ground,” she said.
“We also want to involve local governments as well as communities through a bottom-up management approach. My message is that we need action, implementation,” Sharif added.
The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Azerbaijan on November 11-22 this year.
