In difficult times, it is necessary to find opportunities to solve problems, Maimunah Mohd Sharif, executive director of the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and Mayor of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), said at the COP29 world leaders climate action summit on November 12 in Baku, Report informs.
She emphasized the importance of finding opportunities to solve complex challenges in the current period: "We need to invest in our cities and reduce carbon emissions in cities. I propose conceptual solutions to address these problems. Initiatives are being put forward to create biodiversity cities. By 2040, there will be 1.3 billion tons of plastic waste in nature. During times of complex challenges, it is necessary to find opportunities to solve problems. We must live in harmony with nature, and it is important to support the UN in these matters. Enough statements have been made on this issue; it's time for concrete action."
