Guadeloupean eco-activist seeks to draw attention to problems faced by peoples suffering from colonialism

Though Guadeloupe boasts rich mineral reserves and natural resources, renewable energy remains inaccessible, Guadeloupean eco-activist Jose Martin said during an anti-colonialism protest at COP29, Report informs.

The eco-activist noted that while his country currently has abundant wind, solar, and other alternative energy resources, it uses oil and gas, fossil fuels, in other words:

"Moreover, all of these are imported from Europe. As a result, these fossil fuels severely impact both our economy and ecology. Therefore, through this protest, we want to draw attention to the problems faced by us and other peoples suffering from colonialism."
