Esra Hatipoglu: Higher education institutions should aim to establish ecological campuses

Universities should support students in their initiatives, and establishing sustainable ecological campuses should be the main goal, Esra Hatipoglu, the rector of Bahcesehir University, said at the panel discussion "The Role of Higher Education in Fighting Climate Change: Leadership, Innovation, and Impact Power" held in the COP29 Green Zone, Report informs.

Hatipoglu is hopeful that universities will contribute to educating future generations about climate issues: "Higher education institutions should increase their experience and knowledge on this topic. Citizens, in addition to students, can attend our regular seminars on climate change."

In turn, Vishwajeet Rana, CEO of GEDU Global Education, emphasized in his speech that COP29 is an energy transition: "Regardless of where they live, everyone can transition to a more sustainable future by using new technologies."
