Digitalization of Middle Corridor to be discussed at COP29

A ministerial roundtable titled "Sustainable, Digital Middle Corridor and Beyond" will be held on November 20 within the framework of COP29 in Baku, Report informs.

According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the event aims to encourage countries to digitalize the Middle Corridor and other international transport routes.

The event will discuss successful practices in developing green, sustainable transport infrastructure, the role of innovative technologies in reducing carbon emissions in cargo transportation, as well as examples of using digitalization and intelligent transport systems to increase energy efficiency and improve operational connectivity.

The discussions will also include topics such as the potential role of automation and artificial intelligence in ensuring sustainable transport connections, the impact of transport corridors' digitalization transition on the workforce, human resource development and green job creation opportunities, as well as the role of multilateral development banks in developing sustainable and digital transport corridors.
