Deputy Minister: Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 results from its successful policy in energy sector

Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 is the result of its successful policy in the field of energy, including green energy, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, the Chief Executive Officer of COP29 Azerbaijan, Elnur Soltanov, told reporters, Report informs.

He noted that all these processes take place in two directions: "First of all, it is a negotiation process managed by the UN. This planning is carried out by the UN. On one hand, Azerbaijan will host these processes for a year. On the other hand, it creates great opportunities for the country to reveal its own initiative. Discussions on the ideas that we can have access to the global market are being carried out, and the work is already being completed.".

Soltanov also emphasized that COP29 started with a peace step: "We hope to end COP29 in a way that ultimately contributes to lasting peace."
