BRICS expresses commitment to successful COP29 in Azerbaijan

BRICS expressed commitment to a successful COP29 in Azerbaijan, with an expectation of strong outcomes on climate finance to developing countries, according to the Kazan Declaration themed “Strengthening Multilateralism For Just Global Development And Security,” Report informs.

“We express commitment to a successful COP29 in Azerbaijan, with an expectation of strong outcomes on climate finance to developing countries, as a critical enabler for delivering on the current and future nationally determined actions and ambitions in mitigation, adaptation and loss and damage,” reads the declaration.

BRICS also expresses support for Brazil’s leadership in hosting COP30 in 2025 and welcomes India’s candidacy to host COP 33 in 2028.
