Baku inaugurates COP29 Information Center: A beacon of climate education

Baku has opened the doors of its state-of-the-art COP29 Information Center. This innovative hub, situated on the picturesque Baku Boulevard, aims to educate the public about the upcoming global climate conference scheduled to take place in the city from November 11 to 22 this year.

According to Report, the grand opening ceremony, supported by the Seaside Boulevard Office, saw the attendance of several distinguished guests. Among them were Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and COP29 President, Inger Andersen, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and other officials.

Visitors to the center were treated to an immersive experience, with staff providing detailed insights into its operations. The facility boasts an array of digital resources organized into various thematic zones, offering a comprehensive overview of climate-related issues. One of the highlights is the collection of interactive installations that vividly demonstrate the impacts of climate change and underscore the critical importance of mitigation efforts.
