Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation chair meets with ITUC general secretary

The Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Sahib Mammadov, held a meeting with Luc Triangle, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), who arrived in Baku to attend COP29, Report informs.

The meeting discussed the activities of Azerbaijan's trade unions, including their international relations, the progress of COP29, and upcoming tasks.

Sahib Mammadov noted that the COP29 conference organized by Azerbaijan is being held inclusively, and the achieved results will lead to reduced environmental impacts and broad public participation.

The Azerbaijani confederation chairman also spoke about the steps towards creating safe and decent working conditions in Azerbaijan. It was also emphasized that the organization considers international cooperation a priority in its activities and works on studying and applying advanced global experience in labor rights.

In turn, ITUC General Secretary Luc Triangle expressed satisfaction with visiting Azerbaijan and participation in COP29. He noted that COP29 is organized at a high level, and its results will be very useful in combating the effects of climate change.

The meeting also included a broad exchange of views on areas of mutual interest.
