Azerbaijan aims to actively contribute to the development of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), which are to be submitted by February 2025, Yalchin Rafiyev, deputy minister of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan and chief negotiator for COP29, said on September 30 at the Baku Climate Action Week, Report informs.
He noted that to date, only 30 countries are ready to submit their NDCs on time, which is not enough.
Rafiyev believes that many developing countries do not have sufficient resources to implement climate actions, which is also a problem.
"Many countries, especially developing ones, including small island developing states, are particularly vulnerable due to the lack of financial resources to implement climate change prevention actions and at the same time to create conditions for climate resilience," said the chief negotiator for COP29.
