Inclusiveness is one of the important principles of the COP29 Presidency, COP29 senior negotiator Elvin Ashrafzade said during a forum on climate action organized by the NAM Youth Organization in Baku, Report informs.
“We attach great importance to the involvement of young people in the climate negotiations. At recent sessions in Bonn, we met with young people to discuss how we can integrate them into the climate negotiations, in particular on issues related to adaptation,” he noted.
“We must understand that negotiations are part of the process of our fight against climate change and all efforts are aimed at facilitating this process. As for expectations from COP29, the main expectation is the financing of climate programs, including financing of new collective quantitative climate goals," he said. According to Ashrafzade, Azerbaijan is trying to bring the parties to a common opinion on the issue of “how we can unlock resources to finance this fight.”
