Albanian parliament speaker: Real actions needed to combat climate change

The climate crisis issue should not be limited to just talks, since stronger parliamentary oversight on climate protection is needed, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, said at the session on the real impact of climate change during the Parliamentary Meeting in the COP29 green zone.

According to Report, she noted that every person should be ready to take on commitments for climate protection: "The problem of climate change is becoming increasingly widespread. It is necessary to strengthen parliamentary control and enhance dialogue in the international agenda on this topic. Large companies are the biggest climate polluters, however, they can change the situation. We should not limit ourselves to just talks. Albania supports the ambitions within the Paris Climate Agreement. The Parliament is working on legislation regarding measures to combat climate change."
