Representatives of the African countries at the COP29 climate conference in Baku will focus primarily on the mobilization of financial resources, Kenyan youth climate activist Patricia Kombo told journalists during the third day of the climate conference, according to Report.
"For us, people from developing countries, this is not just an economic issue but one based on deep values, as we closely interact with our communities and better understand what loss and damage mean because we see it on the ground," she said.
According to her, the key task for African countries is to mobilize funds so that grants are directed to support the most vulnerable communities.
"We want projects focused on the most vulnerable populations to be effectively implemented and bring tangible benefits to people. Additionally, we strive for the adoption of ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) that will focus on well-being and ensuring livelihoods for our communities," Kombo emphasized.
