As of today, an impressive 67,000 individuals have registered to attend the highly anticipated COP29 conference set to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan.
According to Report, the event, which will bring together world leaders, climate experts, and activists from around the globe, is expected to be a pivotal moment in the fight against climate change.
According to Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, 3,500 media representatives have already been accredited to cover the event, with many of them already in the country.
Alakbarov also stated that work in many areas of the Baku Stadium, where COP29 will be held, has already been completed 100%, and all preparations at the stadium zones have been finished.
The President's assistant said that meetings will be organized in 29 rooms: "Active discussions about COP29 have been ongoing at the venue since November 5."
He also addressed the catering issue for COP29 participants: "Full attention has been paid to catering preparations. A special portal has been created for this purpose, and orders have already been received."
According to the information, 58 local and foreign companies have set up pavilions in the "Green Zone."
Alakbarov noted that the official opening ceremony of COP29 will be held on November 11: "The Leaders Summit will be held on November 12-13, and the first ladies' meeting will take place in the Green Zone on November 12. Although the event officially ends on November 22, this date may be extended depending on negotiations."
It was also emphasized that Azerbaijan's culture will be presented for approximately 40 minutes during the official opening ceremony of COP29.
It was noted that there will be no restrictions on restaurants and cafes operating in the city area during the event.
