The volume of exports from Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to Türkiye increased by 28% compared to the same period of 2023, Abbas Ismayilov, deputy minister of economy of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, said at the event "Azerbaijan-Türkiye trade relations: export opportunities of Nakhchivan" held on May 15 in Nakhchivan, Report informs.
He said that during the first four months of 2024, Türkiye took first place in the foreign trade turnover of the autonomous republic. The volume of exports to Türkiye increased by 28% compared to the same period last year. In general, the total volume of trade turnover of Nakhchivan with foreign countries was $32.2 million, and the share of Türkiye in trade turnover was 52.7%.
Mineral water, waffle products, tobacco products, electric energy, furniture, construction materials, travertine stone products were exported from Nakhchivan to Türkiye. Food products, household electrical appliances, furniture, textiles, pharmaceutical products, and various techniques prevailed in Türkiye's exports to Nakhchivan.
It was noted that 78% of foreign capital companies operating in Nakhchivan belong to Türkiye. At present, 146 business entities established jointly or on a joint basis with businessmen from Türkiye have been registered in the autonomous republic in various fields of the economy. 55% or 80 of them are active.
