Vice Minister: Necessary to expand number of Azerbaijani trade houses in Kazakhstan

It is necessary to expand the number of Azerbaijan’s trade houses in Kazakhstan, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev told Report.

The vice minister stressed that an Azerbaijani trade house is already operating in Astana, and there is also a representative office in Aktau.

"I would advise expanding the presence of the house to Almaty, as it is the business capital of Kazakhstan," he said.

According to Torebayev, the opening of the trade house is aimed at developing bilateral trade, and Kazakhstan supports these measures.

"Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are important trading partners, we do not compete on a wide range of issues, but complement each other. However, in this regard, the volume of trade is very small and does not correspond to the potential," the vice minister said.

Torebayev added that he participated in the opening of the Azerbaijani trade house in Kazakhstan: "It was a significant event for me. I always rejoice at the steps that our brothers take to bring our countries closer in trade, culture and other aspects."

According to the vice minister, the trade house has great prospects, because the turnover is always associated with the awareness of the buyer.

"The vacuum that exists in Kazakhstan regarding knowledge about Azerbaijani business, which is developing dynamically, is a barrier that needs to be overcome," Torebayev said, adding that the day before he met with representatives of Azerbaijani companies and got acquainted with their developments in petrochemistry, banking, etc.
