Unemployment rate in Eurozone increases in June

The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in the Eurozone increased to 6.5% in June, from 6.4% in May.

According to Report, which cites Interfax, the number of unemployed was 41,000 higher than in May.

The unemployment rate among young people (those under 25 years old) in the Eurozone has shown a slight improvement, dropping to 14.1% in June from 14.2% in the previous month.

Among the largest Eurozone countries, Germany boasts the lowest youth unemployment rate at 3.4%, remaining stable compared to the previous month. Spain, on the other hand, grapples with the highest rate at 11.5% despite a slight decrease from 11.6% in May.

France maintained a steady youth unemployment rate of 7.4% in June, while Italy experienced a minor increase from 6.9% to 7%.

Looking at the broader picture, the European Union as a whole maintained a stable youth unemployment rate of 6% in June, unchanged from the previous month and the same period last year.
