UNDP urges to unite efforts to ensure sustainable development

"The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemics has slowed down the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals around the world, including in Azerbaijan. We must unite our efforts in the post-COVID era to ensure improvement," Alessandro Fracassetti, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative for Azerbaijan, said at an event on "Financing Sustainable Development: Sustainable and Green Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic" in Baku.

According to him, the Azerbaijani government has taken significant steps to strengthen traditional sectors of the economy and achieve a "green economy":

Fracassetti said there is an unprecedented opportunity for this in Azerbaijan. He noted that the Integrated National Financing Framework will be a unique mechanism to ensure sustainable development.
