Turkish ambassador on effects of Russia-Ukraine conflict

Today, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has a major impact on the world, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci told a special session of the Caspian Energy Forum dedicated to the Azerbaijan-Turkiye cooperation held today in Baku.

Report quotes the ambassador as saying that Ukraine, the world's largest producer of sunflower oil and wheat, is in a state of war, which affects the global market and people's budgets for these two products.

He stressed that the ongoing war in the territory of Ukraine has changed the approach to security issues in the world: "For this reason, security issues have come up as the number one issue."

The ambassador added that a number of changes had taken place in the world in recent years: "One of them is the pandemic. A number of companies have been negatively affected by the pandemic. Those who can implement strategic change have turned the pandemic into an opportunity. The global and regional effects of the pandemic are still ongoing. During the pandemic, technology has made us reconsider our work related to it. The possibilities of using technologies in the world have expanded."
