The technical session of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) kicked off in Baku on Wednesday, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
According to the agency, the technical session themed "Adaptive and flexible tax administration in a rapidly changing environment" was attended by heads of tax administrations from more than 40 IOTA member countries, representatives of international organizations, experts, and others.
Speaking at the opening of the technical session, the Head of the State Tax Service, IOTA President Orkhan Nazarli, emphasized the organization's role in the application of best practices and digital technologies, noting that the challenges facing tax administrations around the world - technological changes, the transformation of global trade, and changes in tax behavior - require more flexible management. The session held in Baku was dedicated to relevant discussions.
The session will feature presentations and discussions on the application of innovations in tax administration, digital transformation, the application of artificial intelligence in tax administration, improving relations with taxpayers, and other topical topics. The two-day technical session will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences and discuss new initiatives to strengthen international cooperation.
An exhibition of achievements of member states in the field of innovative technologies is also being held within the framework of the technical session. The Azerbaijani side is represented at the exhibition with stands reflecting innovative projects of the State Tax Service in the fields of media and communication, tax risk management and human resources management.
