Siemens is ready to participate in leapfrogging Azerbaijan to the sustainable future, Supervisory Board Chairmen of Siemens AG Jim Hagemann Snabe told Report on the sidelines of the Davos forum.
"Siemens is one of the companies that make infrastructures for the future sustainable. We are in transportations systems, manufacturing systems, energy systems, healthcare systems and also in urban area systems. So we can contribute. We’re very global company and of course we would be honored to be participating in the leapfrogging your country to the sustainable future," he said.
"It is true that we see some moving backwards on sustainable energy because of the energy security concerns. But I think that this war and situation is a very important reminder that we need to move much faster to the future. This is not the moment to move backwards, this is the moment to accelerate the future. We do not need to be depending on fossil fuels of any kind and I think that the war indicates to us why we shouldn’t be and every country has enough wind and solar to actually make it independent," Snabe noted.
