Problems in Azerbaijan’s tobacco market discussed

The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of Azerbaijan discussed existing problems in the consumer market related to tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, Report informs, citing the agency.

According to the agency, entrepreneurs engaged in the import and production of these products participated in the meeting organized within the framework of a public-private partnership.

During the event, entrepreneurs were informed about the legal requirements regarding the placement of necessary information in the Azerbaijani language for consumers on tobacco products, and the accompaniment of products with documents confirming their compliance with relevant quality indicators.

At the same time, information was provided about the rules for the sale of tobacco products and legal regulations applied in the field of advertising.

The meeting also covered extensive discussions on the main problems observed in this market, ways to solve them, and the most common difficulties faced by consumers. Entrepreneurs were advised to organize their activities in accordance with the provisions of existing legislation.

It was noted that continuing such educational events and strengthening dialogue with business entities serves to ensure transparency and quality product circulation in the consumer market.
