Number of taxpayers in Azerbaijan increased by 5%

As of April 1, 2025, there were 1,614,737 taxpayers in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under the country's Economy Ministry.

This is 5% more than on April 1 of last year.

Some 87% of taxpayers were individuals, 13% were legal entities and other organizations. Over the past year, the number of individuals has increased by 4.6%, and the number of legal entities by 7.6%.

The number of registered commercial entities at the end of March increased by 8.2% compared to a year ago and amounted to 193,780 units.

Exactly 91.6% of commercial legal entities registered in the state were established in the form of limited liability companies (LLC), 1.1% were joint-stock companies, and 1.1% were cooperatives.

In the first quarter, 3,479 single commercial entities passed state registration, of which 89% were with local investment and 11% were with foreign investment. Some 86% of commercial entities were registered electronically. The share of e-registration of registered local investment LLCs during the reporting period was 97%.
