Number of taxpayers grows by 6% in Azerbaijan

As of May 1, 2023, 1,442,086 taxpayers were registered in Azerbaijan, which is 6.1% more year-on-year, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under the country’s Economy Ministry.

According to the data, 87.3% of taxpayers are individuals, and 12.7% are legal entities and other organizations. Over the past year, the number of individuals increased by 5.6%, and the number of legal entities soared by 9.6%.

In January-April 2023, 5,305 commercial organizations passed state registration in the country. Of these, 87.7% are organizations with domestic investment, and 12.3% with foreign investment. About 82% of commercial organizations are registered online. The share of e-registration of LLCs with local investments amounted to 94.2%. According to the new method of registration (ID card’s PIN code + mobile phone number), 681 LLCs with local investments have been registered.
