The number of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs benefiting from the Green Corridor clearance system is growing, Mammad Musayev, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, said at the Customs-Business Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
Musayev noted that fostering public-private sector dialogue and enhancing the business-investment climate in Azerbaijan are vital for economic progress. "Our Confederation, as part of the General Collective Agreement with the government, collaborates with state institutions to strengthen public-private dialogue, address business issues, and develop the national economy with a focus on exports."
He emphasized the effective cooperation between the Confederation and the State Customs Committee: "Many issues raised have been positively resolved, and it is encouraging to see more entrepreneurs using the Green Corridor."
In recent years, significant advancements have been made in the customs system, including electronic declaration systems and trade facilitation initiatives that align with international standards, the president highlighted.
"These efforts are improving our business environment and creating new opportunities for entrepreneurship," Musayev said.
The president also pointed out that as a result, tax revenues to the state budget for the first 11 months of 2024 reached 15 billion manats ($8.823 billion), with 10.3 billion manats (approximately $6.058 billion) coming from the non-oil and gas sector.
Additionally, Azerbaijan's gross domestic product increased by 4.1% year-on-year, reaching 113.3 billion manats ($66.647 billion) during the reporting period, he added.
